William Chapman

William Foy Chapman, January 15, 1928 - June 30, 2016. William Foy was born to Claude Andrew Chapman and Rosa Lee Smiddy Chapman in Tira, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Geraldine Chapman Richey and a brother, Charles Neil Chapman. William Foy enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. He served this country also in the Korean War as a gunner in a tank. William Foy married Alice Cave, who preceded him in death in 1987. He remarried on May 9, 1990 to Janet Jean Minyard, who took excellent care of him until his time of death. He resided most of his adult life in the Dallas area and was employed at Alfred Refrigerated Warehouse for many years and after for Kraft Foods. After retiring, William Foy worked for Richland College in the maintenance department. His hobbies included fishing and he enjoyed owning two boats. He could repair anything mechanical in nature! In recent years, William Foy enjoyed many biweekly breakfasts with brother Beryl Ray Chapman and double-cousin, Jerry Wayne Smiddy, who preceded him in death just last month. William Foy is survived by his wife, Jan, a brother, Beryl and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
