Vera Patterson

Funeral services for Vera Mae Patterson, age 94, of Sulphur Springs will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Brain Bosworth officiating. Interment will follow in Gafford Chapel Cemetery with Gregg Gainer, Bryan Patterson, Jerry Maynard, Jeff Maeker, Ruddie Wright and Mark Lyles serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6 till 8 pm Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Tapp Funeral Home.
Vera Mae Patterson passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 27, 1917 in Hopkins County the daughter of Marion A. and Nannie Bryant Day. She married Hilbert Glen Patterson on December 31, 1938 in Sulphur Springs. He preceded her in death in 1983. Vera Mae was a retired seamstress from the H.D. Lee Company. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and long time member of the Wesley Quitters.
Survivors include: son, Harlan Patterson and wife, Dora of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Glenda Gainer and husband, Glenn of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Gregg Gainer, Gina Gainer, Melissa Maeker, Ginger Maynard, and Bryan Patterson; great grandchildren, Amber Dykes, Ashley Wilburn, Morgan Maynard, Kasie Maynard, Lauren Maynard, Colby Gainer, Kayla Hiller, Kinley Hiller, Matthew Maeker and Jared Maeker; great-great grandchild, Allyson Dykes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, D.L. Day and Leo Day, sister, Florine Wright.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs.
