Tommie Roland

Funeral services for Tommie L. Roland, age78, of Sulphur Springs will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Morning Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Harold Nash officiating. Interment will follow in the Mel Haven Cemetery with , Phillip Roland, Mark Roland, Archie Roland, Gilbert Roland, Donnie Roland, Adrian Roland, and Dennis "Pete" Nash serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be, Odion Williams Jr., Clifton Nash, Aubrey Nash, and Jeffery George. No formal visitation.
Mr. Roland passed away Thursday evening, March 21, 2013 at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. He was born in Sulphur Springs on March 31, 1934 the son of Alonzo and Annie Mitchell Roland. He married Yvonne Montgomery the later married Lela Irving. She preceded him in death. He was member of the Morning Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors included: three daughter, La Tonia Williams, Eula Roland-George, and Becky Roland all of Atlanta ,GA; two sons, Mark Roland and Archie Roland of Dallas; step-sons, Dennis Moore, Timothy Moore, William Moore, Jr.; step-daughters, Angela Loving, and Vanessa Kelley; brothers, Wilbert Roland of Sulphur Springs and J. B. Roland of Dallas; six grandchildren, Sonya Williams, Paulina Williams, Odion Williams, Phillip Roland, Justina George, and Jeffery George; step-granddaughter, Sierra Reed; and five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
