Robert Alford

Funeral Services for Robert “Junior” Alford, age 72, of Mesquite, will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sharp Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2019. Mr. Alford passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his home in Mesquite.

Junior was born on January 6, 1947 in Sulphur Springs to Robert Madison Alford and Faye Pogue Alford. He worked at Cannon Craft for several years before moving to Mesquite and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Alford is survived by nephews: Steven Gardner and John R. Slaughter, III (Tammy); nieces: Linda Lee (Randy Hopson), Kathy Ross and Cindy Ford (Charlie); a host of great nieces and nephews, great, great nieces and nephews and great, great, great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Faye Alford; sister: Bobbie Gardner: several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
