Funeral services for Melba Connally, age 95, of Texarkana, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Myra Wilson Chapel with Michael Moore officiating. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service (noon-2:00 p.m.) at the Myra Wilson Chapel.
Melba Connally passed away Friday morning, February 22, 2013, at the Isle of Watercrest Assisted Living in Mansfield, TX. She was born to pioneer Texarkana merchant, Richard Newton Rivers and Annie (Schardon) Rivers on December 30, 1917 in Texarkana. She married Perry Woodrow Connally on September 27, 1940 in Albuquerque, NM; he preceded her in death in 1999. Ms. Connally was a homemaker and an antique dealer. She was also a member of the Downtown First Baptist Church in Texarkana and the Gateway Garden Club.
Surviors include: son, Bill Connally, of Arlington; nieces, Ann Harrison and Melinda Spears, both of Texarkana; and nephews, Donald Parker and Harry Parker, both of Texarkana.
She was also preceded in death by six siblings.
