Funeral services for Lovis Lula Hart Edwards, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Lewis will officiate.
Burial will follow services in the Winterfield Cemetery, with Michael Alford, Rance Dean, Scott Dean, Paige Whitworth, Payton Whitworth and Butch Adams serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2010, at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mrs. Edwards passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at her residence, in Sulphur Springs. She was born on December 17, 1933, in Pickton, Texas, the daughter of Ollie Albert Hart and Velma Jane Maddox Hart. She married William Arthur Edwards, on September 8, 1951, in Sulphur Springs. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1994.
Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include: her companion of 10 years, Vernon Elledge; sons, Jeff Edwards and wife Gail of Whitehouse, TX, and Clay Edwards and wife Tina of Sulphur Springs; daughters, Susan Collins and husband Ronnie, and Elaina McQueen and husband Ed, all of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Gertrude Ragan of Winnsboro, Grace Plemons and husband William of Pickton, Ruby Shoffner and husband Skip of Balch Springs, and Mozell Dean of Grand Prairie; and grandchildren, Lee Collins and wife Trina of Dallas, Justin Edwards of Tyler, Alicia Collins, Emily McQueen, Ely McQueen, and Keenan Schulz, all of Sulphur Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Darwin Hart; sisters, Rosalee Alford and Frankie Elledge; and one grandchild, Caleb Ryan Ewalt.
