Funeral services for DeVette, age 47, of Sulphur Springs have been set for Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1:00PM at Omaha First Baptist Church in Omaha, TX. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Naples, TX with Rev. Ferrell Brown officiating. Serving as pallbearer will be Andre Woods, Larry Benford, Ka’Darian Wright, Rahiam Hill, Barry Whetstone and Robert Askew. The honorary pallbearers will be Jarod Goodson, Jamal Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Reginald Mitchell and Lonne Jones. A visitation will be held at Tapp Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
DeVette was born on May 14, 1971, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of James Mitchell and Patricia Grant Hill. She was a Certified Nurses Aide and was of the Baptist faith. Kaunda Devette Hill passed away on Saturday April 20, 2019 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, TX.
Survivors include: father: James Mitchell of Greenville, TX: daughters: Myeisha Hill and LaDaria Hill and husband, Tyrique Cuffee both of Sulphur Springs; son: Jarod Goodson of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren: Ka’Mariyah Thomlinson, Teyanna Cuffee and Xavier Goodson; brothers: Rodney Grant of Sulphur Springs, Jamal Mitchell of DeSoto, TX. Josh Mitchell of Dangerfield, TX and Reginald Mitchell of Royce City, TX; sisters: Misty Mitchell of Glenn Heights, TX and Carolyn Bozeman of Sulphur Springs, TX; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Patricia Grant Hill; and a sister, Yolonda Hill.
