Jimmy Childers

Funeral services for Jimmy Childers have been set for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Tapp Funeral Home with Rev. David Burns officiating with Micky Barton and Rusty Flemmin assisting. Interment will follow in Sunny Point Cemetery with Larry Cash, Simon Merciers, Justin Childers, Kevin Childers, Jason Merciers, and Eddie Cash serving as pallbearers. No formal visitation has been planned.


Jimmy Odell Childers was born November 13, 1965 the son of Jack Odell Childers and Wilma Jo Bunch in Mesquite Texas. He married Sherry Oring. She survives. He worked as a mechanic at North Texas Trucking Service and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include, mother, Wilma Jo Childers of Cumby; daughters, Chloe Childers of Waxahachie, Chrissy Childers of Waxahachie, and Kimberly Boyd of Corsicana; sisters, Donna Merciers and husband Jason of Combine, Beth Stevenson and husband Morris of Greenville; brother, Jackie Wayne Childers and wife Barbara of Ben Wheeler; Aunt Polly and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father two brothers David Jack Childers and Michael Scott Childers.
