Janice Sue Phillips, age 77, of Sulphur Springs, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs, TX. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church (155 N. Jackson St) in Sulphur Springs, TX.
Janice Sue Werremeyer was born at home on January 17, 1946, in Everton, MO, to Homer Truman Werremeyer and Lilly Mae (Plumb) Werremeyer. After high school, she went on to get her degree from business school. She married Charles Wallace and they had two children, Larry Lee Wallace and Anna Marie Wallace. She later married David Phillips. She enjoyed singing, sewing, reading, needlework crafting, and going to church. She loved to share about her traveling adventures and has been all around the United States, from New York to California. She truly loved the Lord and loved telling her friends and family what God had done in her life. She loved to laugh and usually had a humorous story to tell about something in her past. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she will be deeply missed.
Janice Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lilly Werremeyer, and six sisters, her son, Larry Lee Wallace and daughter, Anna Marie Wallace Gibson. She is survived by her brother, Robert Werremeyer of Iowa; step-children Michael Phillips and Holly Jarrett (Anthony Jarrett); grandchildren, Cierra Wallace (Michael Gehrke), Alivia Fillman (Justus Fillman), Ephanie Gibson (Riley Jack), Hannah Jarrett, Sydney Jarrett, and Isaiah Jarrett; great-grandchildren, Waylon, Shelby, Ash, Finan, Noah, Vallie Mae; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
