Funeral services for J. R. Hinkle, age 95, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 10:00am Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Dittmar officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sterling cemetery with David Robinson, Wayne Bledsoe, Jeff Bledsoe, Eugene Clark, Bob Schaffer and Benny Vice serving as pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening at Tapp Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
James Richard Hinkle was born September 22, 1914 in Milburn, Oklahoma, the son of William Clayton and Ira Bell Stroud Hinkle. He married Mittie Ethyl Clifton. She preceded him in death in 1986. He was a retired carpenter and rancher. He was an elder in the Oakland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hinkle passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his residence in Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include sons, Spencer Hinkle, of the Oakland Community, Jerry Hinkle, and wife, Lucy, of Rockwall; grandson, Richard Hinkle, of the Oakland Community, granddaughters; Tamara Stewart, and husband, Mike, of Oahu, Hawaii, Darla Baldridge, and fiancé, Rick McCann, of Sulphur Springs, Marsha Womack, and husband, Daniel, of the Oakland Community, step-granddaughters Belinda Blasing, of Wisconsin, and Teresa Flood, of Missouri, Great -grandchildren, Brandon Baldridge, of Austin and Lori Baldridge, of Sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Hinkle, six sisters, Hazel Womack, Jane Emberton, Lorene Mills, Ethyl Peek, Maryetta Gower, Gertrude and one infant brother.
Memorials may be made to the Oakland Presbyterian Church Fund.
