Funeral services for Hazel Norine Mitchell, age 82 of Sulphur Springs will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Stouts Creek Cemetery with Warren Mitchell, Mark Duncan, Jason Raines, Justin Mitchell, Jarrett Mitchell, and Ethan Mitchell serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Austin Baker, Scott Williams, Cody Williams, Brett Ferguson, Lane Duncan, and Chase Duncan. Visitation will be 5 till 7 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Tapp Funeral Home.
Hazel Norine Mitchell passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born in Hopkins County on September 22, 1928 the daughter of Joe Carlton and Dovie Hazel (Smith) Hall. She married Otis W. Mitchell in Mt. Vernon on May 6, 1944. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Survivors include: daughter, Linda Rains and husband Ted of Winona; three sons, Larry Mitchell and wife Dianna of Quitman, Alton Mitchell and wife Glenda of Sulphur Bluff, and Danny Mitchell of Birthright; two brothers, Gleen Hall of Talco, and Curtis Hall of Euless; twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Jo Nell Luttrell, and brother Coy Wayne Hall.
