Harold “Bot” Wright was born on November 29, 1945 to Arthur Wright and Arbrie Epting Lewis Wright. He was the oldest child born to this union. Harold committed his life to Christ at an early age by becoming a member of Prairie Hill CME church. Harold attended school in Sulphur Springs and he graduated from Douglas High School in 1964. After graduation he joined The United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1967. In 1969, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Godbolt. He later married Barbara Jones and Pamela Clayton. He leaves to cherish his memory (4) children; Kerry (Tammy), Johnny (Shaletha), Andrea Denise (Eric), all of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Gregory Jones (Christina) Kansas City, Kansas.
In 1972, Harold was ordained as a minister in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. During his pastoral tenure, Rev. Wright shepherded several churches, which included churches in Wolfe City, Sulphur Springs, Queen City, Domino, Paris, Naples, Greenville, and Red Water, Texas.
Rev. Harold Wright was employed by Oncor Electric for 38 years as a lineman and crew foreman. He retired in 2006
On April 11, 2018, God called him home to be reunited with loved ones gone on before him. Harold leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children, and his special goddaughter Ferdelle Freeman (Bobby), four sisters; Arlene Lewis , Clarine Moore (Wayne), of Sulphur Springs, Mary Hill (Larry) of Boerne, Texas, and Claudie Sanders (Paul) of Athens, Georgia; one brother; Henry Lewis (Debra) of Lancaster, Texas. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren; Jeromy Donahue, Shawana Wooten, Andrew Wooten, Brandi Smith, Dadrian Smith, DeAndre` Wright, Kerie Wright, Ebony Wright, Kadarian Wright, Christopher Johnson, Samira Younger, Jonathan Wright, Jayla Wright, Devin King, Arbrie King, Alexander King, Gregory Jones III, and Chloe Jones. He also leaves 12 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 1 brother, Arvie Wright, 1 sister, baby girl Wright, and 1 grand daughter, Mallory Carey.
