Gerald Washington

Funeral services for Gerald Washington, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, have been scheduled for 2:00pm on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Easy Caney Baptist Church with Pastor LaVelle Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow in East Caney Cemetery with Issac Porter, Cordel Jackson, Terry Williams, Robert W. Harris, Kevin Harris and Marcus Harris serving as pallbearers and Rev. Rudy Ellis will serve as an honorary pallbearer. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Tapp Funeral Home.
Gerald Washington was born in East Caney on October 14, 1938, the son of Rev. Tom Washington, Sr. and Rosie Lee Vaughn Washington. He married Doris Pryor in Sulphur Springs in 2004. He was retired from DOTX. Mr. Washington passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at Baylor in Carrollton.
Survivors include, wife, Doris Washington of Sulphur Springs; daughters, Michele Edwards of Sulphur Springs and Angela Washington of Ft. Worth; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Foster Washington, Jr., Jimmy Washington and Lynn Washington; sisters, Kay Bell and Louvelle Harris.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Smith Washington; son, Gerald Darnell Washington; brother, Durwood Washington; sisters, Ruby Mosley, Jessie Ivery and Claudell Washington.
