Doris Cromer Wardrup, beloved mother, grandmother and companion, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on January 6, 2016, with her daughter by her side.
She was born Doris Marie Cromer on December 22, 1925 to Morris James Cromer and Etha Arnold Cromer, who were charter members of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs.
She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School on May 28, 1943, where she was a member of the marching band and a Majorette.
She was married on June 6, 1944 and moved to Fort Worth. There she became an active member of the River Oakes Methodist Church where she traditionally provided roses from her garden for the alter each summer.
The family moved to Hurst in 1965 and she became a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Cromer and William Cromer.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Marie Taylor of Saltillo and a grandson, Cory Len Applewhite of Austin.
She was greatly loved, will be greatly missed and will be remembered often.
