Burton Nowlin age 89, of Sulphur Springs passed away on November 2, 2014 in Sulphur Springs, funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Tapp Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Cochran officiating. Burial will follow the service at Providence Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Devyn Sumners, Ned Ball, Harold G. Ball, Billy Sanders, Joe Thompson, Allen Davis, Jesse Duckworth and Harold Baugh serving as pallbearers. Visitation Will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Nowlin was born on September 2, 1925 to Thomas S. and Orpha Burton Nowlin in Hanna Oklahoma. He married Ruby T. Wesson on February 9, 1957 in Sulphur Springs TX. He was a member of The Lighthouse Church.
Mr Nowlin is survived by his wife Ruby Nowlin and their children; two sons; Thomas Dewayne Nowlin of Sulphur Springs TX, and Elvon Nowlin of Tatum TX. two daughters; Sharron Ball of Sulphur Springs and Carolyn Sanders of Kaufman TX. He is also survived by his sister Ozella Whetstone of Mt. Vernon and his grandchildren; Tatia Margaret Faulkner, Eli Thompson, Charlotte Anderson, Robert Faulkner, Joe Thompson, Billy Joe Sanders, Devyn Sumners, Matthew Allen Sumners, and Brittany Nicole Alderson and numerous Great- Grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren.
He was Preceded in death by his daughter Glenda Alverez, his grandchildren Luther Thompson, Newton Anderson and Winnie Turner as well as two brothers; Raymond Nowlin and Bill Nowlin.
