Betty Davis

Funeral services for Betty L. Edwards Davis will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Tapp Funeral Home with Brother Chalmer Dennis and Billy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery with her grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Friday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tapp Funeral Home.
Betty Davis, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 in Sulphur Springs. She was born the daughter of Thomas D. and Virgie B. Edwards on October 14, 1929 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She married R.D. Davis on March 27, 1948 at Ft. Worth, Texas.
Survivors include: Son, Billy W. Davis and wife, Elaine of Ft. Worth; daughters, Betty Ann Young and husband, Garry, of Oscoda, MI, Dorothy Newsom and husband, William Jack, of Sulphur Springs, and Shera Davis Massey and husband, Michael, of Sulphur Springs; 9 Grandchildren Robert, Steven, Diana, Garry N. Young, all of Oscoda, MI. Jimmy and Brian Busby and Denise Williams of Winnsboro and Pickton, Brandon Davis of Ft. Worth, and Eric Davis of Skopje, Macedonia. Twenty-four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Thomas Dee Edwards, Jr; husband, R.D. Davis; infant son, Roy Dee Davis; and granddaughter Dena Lynn Davis.
