Graveside services for Adell Mitchell, age 92, of Sulphur Springs have been scheduled for Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2:30PM at Richland Cemetery with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2012 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service at Tapp Funeral Home.


Bessie Adell Mitchell was born on September 8, 1939 in Birthright, the daughter of Elmer and Clemie Smith Hill. She married Adrian Dorsey Mitchell in Hopkins County on April 21, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. Mrs. Mitchell passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 in Arlington.


Survivors include daughters, Mary Hill, and husband, Jack, of Arlington, Sue Gibbons, and husband, Joel, of Gladewater; grandchildren, Torin Gibbons, Hilarie White; step grandchildren, Kathy Ballard, Laurie Purdy, Holly Bishop; great-grandchildren, Brandon Gibbons, Dustin Gibbons, Shannon Gibbons, Lindsey Rawls, Hyden Ledbetter; step great-grandchildren, Clay Harris, Hayley Harris, Jaclyn Bishop, Blake Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Lincoln Gibbons; brother, Odell Hill.
