Mrs. Bertha Mae Nash Williams passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX. The funeral for Mrs. Bertha Nash Williams will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Morning Chapel in Sulphur Springs.
Bertha Nash Williams was born on October 29, 1919 in Hopkins County, the daughter of John Henry Nash and Lucy Hardeman Nash. She attended East Caney Community School. She became a member of the East Caney Baptist church at an early age.
Bertha M. Nash was united in holy matrimony to Andrew Lee Williams on November 8, 1938 in Hopkins County, TX. Bertha loved sewing, making pillows, aprons and many different decorative items. She also loved her potted plants and gardening. In 1963 her family relocated to Dallas, TX. She would become a member of the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church of Dallas, TX where she remained a faithful member – attending Sunday school, singing in the choir and other ministries until her health failed.
Bertha Nash Williams is survived by her son, Henry Lee Williams (Josie) of Waskom, TX and her daughter, Wanda Gail Thomas (Wesley) of Dallas, TX.
She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Phyllis Williams of Dallas, TX, Byron L. Williams of Jurupa Valley, CA, Karen Young of Cedar Hill, TX and Reggie Williams of Red Oak, TX. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Bertha Nash Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Lee Williams, daughter, Ruthie Jean Williams, brothers, Alex and Jasper Nash, sisters, Blanche Askew and Earnestine M. Bozeman Riley and one grandson, Deric Earl Young and one granddaughter, Michelle Williams Arnett.
The following individuals will serve as Active Pallbearers: Anthony Dial, Lester Dial, Cliff Nash, Earl Daniels, Weldon Nash and Quon Clayton. Serving as Flower-Bearers will be her granddaughters.
Interment will be at East Caney Baptist Cemetery in the East Caney Community.

No visitation is scheduled.
