Arvis Sims

Funeral services for Arvis Wayne Sims have been scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:00pm at East Caney Baptist Church with Pastor C.J. Duffey officiating. Interment will follow in the East Caney Cemetery with his nephews as pallbearers. No formal visitation has been set.
Arvis Wayne Sims passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab. Mr. Sims was born in East Caney on June 19, 1935, the son of Carter Sims Sr. and Allie Washington Sims Lewis. Mr. Sims was in the construction business.
Survivors include sisters, Arlene Williams and Peggy White, both of Sulphur Springs; brothers, Carter Sims Jr., and Charlie Sims, both of Sulphur Springs; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by sisters, Darlene Horton, Omergene Sims, and Vada Alexander; brothers Bobby Sims, James Sims, and N.W. Sims.
